Over the years, I've come across various sites and resources that I've found beneficial to my professional (and past academic) career. This list is not comprehensive, but is meant to be a starting point. I hope that it may helpful for those looking to get started (or need a refresher) in data analytics and research, as well as for those interested in academia. If any links are broken, please let me know. (Some links may require membership login).

Getting Started with Data Analytics - Intro
- Analytics Academy by Segment - A free one lesson / week via email to help you learn the basic of analytics. It's new, so not all the lessons are up yet, but there's plenty to get started with. Each lesson is short and to the point; perfect if you're getting started in analytics, or just need a refresher.

- Lynda.com - Owned by LinkedIn, Lynda.com is a great site for online video courses ranging across a variety of topics. Membership isn't always free, but many universities and companies provide membership. Some courses to get you started are Up and Running with Python, Techniques and Concepts of Big Data, and Creating Interactive Dashboards in Tableau.
- Coursera - A popular site for free online courses taught by various universities. A popular course there is the Data Science course. While you have to pay to get the official certificate, you can choose to audit a course for free. You won't graded, but you'll still have access to the materials and lectures
- Skillshare - This is a site I haven't personally used yet, but have heard good things about. It offers a free membership with access to over 300 courses, and more with a paid membership
Datasets to Play With
- Yelp Academic Dataset - Perhaps the most popular or well-known dataset out there, the Yelp Dataset offers access to over 2 million reviews across 10 cities (and they always seem to be expanding!)
- Yahoo - Offers a variety of datasets including Ratings and Classification, Advertising and Market, and Graph and Social Data
